My New Subsection |
Do you believe you had a good childhood? Please explain |
It was alright. I had very strict parents who were not afraid to use the belt. |
What did your parent(s) do with you for family time? |
We watched tv. |
Did your parent(s) make it a point to show and tell you that they loved you? |
My mom did, not my dad. |
As a child when you did something wrong, what kind of punishment (if any) did you get? |
I was hit with the belt, or with their hand. |
Do you believe you will raise your children the same way you were raised? Why or why not? |
I have used my hand, but never the belt. I think it is a stupid way to punish a little kid. |
Do you believe that the way a child is raised determines the person they become? |
It has a huge factor, but we become what we want to become. We have the power to overcome the crap from our childhood, and not repeat the cycle to our children. |
Do you believe you grew up in a good family environment? Why or why not? |
Yes. My extended family were extremely important in helping to raise me. They were there for me whenever I needed them. Family is everything, they will always be there no matter what...friends...not so much. |
Did your home environment positively or negatively affect your growing up? Please explain |
It was positive. I had very young parents who were just doing the best they could. I knew the difference between right and wrong. I had parents who loved me, and each other. |
What do you wish, if anything, was different about your childhood? |
I wish my parents and I communicated more. I wish they were less strict, and that we spent more time together doing fun things. |
Do you really believe there is such a thing as a "perfect childhood"? |
That is a absolute NO. We all have issues, no one is perfect, no parent is perfect. We all just do our best, and hope for the best. |
