Informant #1751: I do not feel men and women can participate together in professional sports. I do feel that men and women are capable of doing most, bt not all of the same jobs. Some jobs are physically too demanding for women. I do not feel the standards of a job should be lowered to keep women in. However, they should not be raiseed to keep women out. There should be a set requirement for the position and if the woman can meet it then she should be allowed to continue with it. As for the military I think males and females should have sepreate units. The military is a very physical job and a lot of times women are forced to become unfeminie in order to meet its standards. Plus they are put in uncomfortable situations when they are one of the feww women amongst hundreds of males.

Informant #1772: Physical limitations have to be taken into concideration in professional sports. Gold if they can do it go for it.

Informant #1774: I believe that men and women can participate together equally in most cases but there are some areas where strength is needed and men are sometimes stronger.

Most men are physically stronger (notice I didn't say emotionally stronger) than most women. I believe that all the effort put into getting women involved in professional sports and military combat is misguided.

Informant #2295: If qualified means that they (women) are completely physically and mentally equals in the specific job/sports arena they are trying to involve themselves in then they should be allowed to participate. If they do not measure up in any way (similar to a man who would not measure up) they should not be allowed to participate. Special allowances should NOT be made especially in life or death jobs (i.e. firemen, police officers, military combat units).

Informant #2328: I do not think women should see front-line combat or play on mens' sport's teams.

Informant #2355: As far as certain jobs and sports are concerned...I think that men are better suited. Women can participate, but I don't think there could be equality with men due to the physical factor. Men, for the most part are just physically stronger.

Informant #2449: Women and men can always participate together in anything. However, women and men cannot always compete against one another.

Informant #2450: I think professional sports and some jobs require a certain amount of physical strength (i.e. firefighter, football player, etc.). Men, in general, are physically stronger than women so they will never be able to compete equally in all sports/jobs. Also, I think the female role of giving life and nuturing the family is significant enough that women should be exempted from front-line military duty.
