Informant #1751: I think that men overly oppressing women had more to do with the increase in opportunity. You can only push a person so far and treat them bad for so long. Then they will retaliate and realize that what the person is doing to them is not right.

Informant #1755: It has opened doors but certainly not wide enough. Women are still paid less than their male counterparts and are also not promoted as quickly.

Informant #1774: I am not sure if feminism is the reason for some of the opportunites or maybe the fact that more women were forced to have to work because of being a single parent. As a result of that fact, more women had to get degrees in different areas, not just the typical women areas.

Informant #2178: In a lot of ways, feminism has been both a hindrance and a help to women. A help in the way that many advances have been made that allow women more freedom and opportunities to reach their personal goals. A hindrance in the way that some women have become so accustomed to the advantages that feminism has given them that they have stopped striving to achieve even more advantages, and they have also begun to think that the fight is over. Some women have even begun to think that feminism is unnecessary at this point, which is almost counterproductive to the original solutions that feminism wanted to help create.

Informant #2242: Feminist are sometimes too extreme. I really think feminist aren't needed anymore. White women are just about on equal par with White men in terms of success and pay. If anything the feminist movement should allow for more partcipation of other oppressed female groups like Black, Asians, Hispanics, Arabs, etc.
