Informant #62921: Both are in love, so they decide to "walk through life" together and that they won't share "pyhysical intimacy" with anyone else. Raising a family is a part of that "walk of life" thing. I'm not getting married just for kids. I want to enjoy my husband's company for a while.

Informant #62940: respect eachother, have good communication and support eachother on everything

Informant #62983: To share their love for Christ first, then their love for eachother. A successful marriage and the raising of children will come natural if you put Christ first.

Informant #63077: I think that it depends on the marriage. If the couple decides to have children then their focus needs to be on their children but the must no lose focus on each other and the companionship and love they share as a whole family as well as a couple. The purpse of a marriage definatly depends on what the couple decides is important to them. I think that all of the above mentioned are important and are needed to have a sucessful marriage.

Informant #63141: preserves order in society over time

Informant #63157: two people uniting in harmony to further a joined overall purpose.

Informant #63178: Social obligation.

Informant #63183: lots of penis

Informant #63197: to feel loved, secure and share life, laughter and intimacy in a committed relationship.

Informant #63213: To fulfill delusions and poorly judged desires on both parts

Informant #63314: I wouldn't say any of the above - they can all be done whether in a marriage or not. I would say marriage is more to further the connection between the two people involved and to show total commitment.
